Their long-awaited third album, recorded by Kurt Ballou and Zach Weeks at God City and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Musically, Dropdead’s third album is a bit different from their previous efforts, in style and vocals, with the latter delivered in a way that allows the lyrics to have more impact than just raw screams. With 23 tracks in 24 minutes, the songs themselves vary greatly in tempo and style, but ultimately this is a Dropdead record that makes sense in 2020. Lyrically, the record is relevant to the times we live in, focusing on the alarming state of the world, the alarming rise of right-wing extremism, animal abuse, and the ongoing social failures of humanity. “These are dark times we live in,” the band say, “and this is how we release our frustration and anger in a positive way.”
