Originally recorded in 2001 and released for the first time in its proper form. YACOPSÆ’s – “Preliminary Annihilation” is the original version that the band had planned at the time. Unfortunately, the record company used different versions of the songs at the time or put them in a different order. The original front cover that the band preferred was not used either. Here is the official reissue exactly as the band wanted it. Purely musically, nothing has changed, a 39-track, incredibly packed album recorded in 2001. Musically, it is one of the fastest records in HC’s history. Turbocharged, powerful, brutal and thrashy, YACOPSÆ is a model of precision and accuracy. While most Fastcore has the effect of a cluster bomb, YACOPSÆ is more like a laser-guided weapon used for surgical strikes. Each of the 39 tracks on this album is a kick in the groin – short and sharp, but polished enough to leave a lasting impression. If you thought the evolution of power-related violence would inevitably lead to mathcore or screamo, think again, you bastard, because YACOPSÆ is the pinnacle of the genre.
