SPARAGMOS “Error” CD

More than three decades after its original release, Warsaw death/thrash band SPARAGMOS presents the long-awaited reissue of their second studio album, “Error.”

The album, originally released in 1994 exclusively on cassette tape by Metal Mind Productions, finally receives a reissue worthy of the 21st century – for the first time on CD and LP in a remastered version. Mastering was carried out in 2026 by Filip Heinrich Hałucha at Heinrich House Studio, giving the classic recordings from 1993/1994 a new, much clearer and more dynamic sound while retaining the raw, organic soul of the 1990s. The reissue of “Error” is not just a nostalgic journey; it’s a chance for material that was underappreciated and difficult to access in the 1990s due to the decline of the cassette medium to finally sound the way it always should – loud, clear, and uncompromising.

“Error” was already considered one of the most daring and progressive releases on the Polish (and international) extreme metal scene upon its release. Its eclectic blend of death metal, thrash, technical hooks, power choruses, expansive melodies, and experimental structures surpassed the genre’s contemporary standards. Reviewers often compared the album to the Dutch band Pestilence’s cult classic Spheres.

SPARAGMOS was formed in 1989 in Warsaw by guitarist Sebastian Zusin, vocalist and guitarist Łukasz Myszkowski, and drummer Artur Grudziński. The latter soon left the band. Tomasz Marecki replaced him, and Andrzej Rudnicki joined as bassist. As a quartet, the musicians recorded their debut demo, “Mortal Organic Remains,” which was released in 1990 on the group’s own initiative. In February 1992, the quartet entered Warsaw’s Power Play studio to record material for their debut album, “Invitation From Host Of Wrath.” The band also began work on their second LP, “Error.” The material was recorded with new drummer Krzysztof Bentkowski. The band remained active until 2002. Their last album, “Conflict,” was released in 1999.

The reissue of Error will be released on March 27, 2026, on CD and LTD CD (limited to 100 copies, featuring a unique feature – 3D-printed bacteriophages, intended to rekindle the spirit of Polish death metal of the 1990s and underscore the uniqueness of this release) by Selfmadegod Records. The LP is scheduled for release in spring/summer 2026.
