The Swedish band At the Gates formed in 1990 and, hailing from Gothenburg, released four incredibly successful and influential studio albums before disbanding in 1996. The band reformed in 2007 and has been touring the world for several years with success and prestigious concerts.

In the early 1990s, At the Gates developed a unique and pioneering sound of intense, yet complex, and melodic death metal, cementing their reputation as one of the forerunners of the European death metal scene – fusing a fierce blend of expressive melody and brutal riffs into a sound that was both extreme and memorable. Over their six-year history, the five-piece band has built a solid reputation for outstanding albums and insane live performances.

Terminal Spirit Disease was originally released in 1994 and featured a more simplistic, catchy songwriting style that was further developed and refined on their fourth and final studio album, Slaughter of the Soul.
