Years in the making. The first reissue since its original release in 1996! Remastered artwork using the original sources. Grief’s second album following the genre-defining “Come to Grief”! A classic sludgecore masterpiece!!!

These crust doom legends took on the genre with a sledgehammer on “Miserably Ever After.” Long before playing slow music for fans of the hyper-fast world of death metal, grindcore, powerviolence, and crush metal became fashionable, Grief grinds with a slow, doomy, heavy brutality, and screaming vocals that borrow heavily from the original members’ early grindcore roots. Laying the foundation for other early ’90s bands like Cavity, Iron Monkey, Floor, and Eyehategod, Grief faced the challenge of matching the strength of each previous album. Well, this album did that and more. Sadness has both influenced and been inspired by the doom scene, and the influence of Black Sabbath and Los Angeles doom kings Saint Vitus is abundantly evident here. And with a distinctive cover of Vitus’s “Angry Man” and the bleak landscape of alienation, drug and alcohol abuse, misanthropy, and betrayal in each track, each chord is a nuclear explosion of depression.
