MMXIX: The trajectories of Maciek Pasiński (ex-Sirrah, TheMANcalledTEA, qip) and Pete Dempsey (Scald) intersected in November 2019 in Belfast. The men decided to start working together on several different musical projects. They started by finishing the album Scald ‘Regius I’ – Pete’s band, which had de-facto remained a fossil for a decade. Encouraged by the positive result, they started a new, more musically and lyrically intensive project called Pincer Consortium, stylistically largely detached from the musicians’ previous achievements.

MMXXI: Having woven a tapestry of surrealist black sociolect poetry documenting the clash of two metaphorical, multi-level, opposing forces, Dempsey handed the libretto for Pincer Consortium’s debut material in its final form to Pasiński in November 2021. He began work a few months later to complete the concept with a broad sonic landscape in the form of a hyper-progressive, industrial, death-black metal set of intricate, overwhelming tracks, sonically following the descending pyramid of critical stages of existence, encompassing the life, death, and rebirth of a parallel universe on astronomical and microscopic scales, both physical and psychological.
