THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN “Option Paralysis” LP

“Option Paralysis” is a blend of mathcore, hardcore, and the twisted rhythmic structures that became The Dillinger Escape Plan’s trademark. The album combines abrupt tempo shifts, jagged riffs, and frantic drumming with surprisingly melodic passages and more atmospheric arrangements. Greg Puciato’s vocals range from screams to clean singing, while the music as a whole balances between controlled chaos and meticulously planned composition.

Formed in New Jersey in 1997, The Dillinger Escape Plan became one of the most significant mathcore bands. The group fused the aggression of hardcore punk with a technical approach to songwriting, jazz-inflected rhythmic freedom, and an experimental take on musical form. Originally released in 2010, “Option Paralysis” further develops their signature style, sacrificing neither their characteristic brutality nor their melodic surprises.
