Canadian destruction-mongers Wake have been playing one of the finest blends of grindcore and crust since 2009. Their albums typically consist of around 20 minutes of conflagration and incredible levels of anger and aggression. They debuted in 2010 with the EP Surrounded by Human Filth, only to improve their debut a year later with their debut album, which remains their longest to date at 26 minutes. They record for multiple labels because they can’t seem to stay in the same spot for long.

This is the purest essence of grindcore, with moshing a must.
