One of the key names in Polish crust punk from the 1990s returns with archival material from their most active period. *Singles 1997* is a unique collection documenting the early days of the Wrocław-based band Infekcja—a group that has remained consistently tied to the uncompromising, independent punk scene since the early 90s.

Infekcja formed in Wrocław in 1991 and quickly established itself within the hardcore/crust scene. While the lineup shifted during the band’s early years, the core group eventually solidified around Mokry (vocals), Słoma (guitar), Biki (drums), and Biały (bass)—musicians who remained with Infekcja for decades to come. The band also performed internationally; in 1998, they undertook a European tour covering countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and the Czech Republic.

*Singles 1997* is particularly noteworthy for compiling three archival 7-inch records into a single release: the *Infekcja* 7″, *Symbioza* 7″, and a split 7″ with S.O. WAR. The material stems from 1997 recording sessions and was previously scattered across hard-to-find releases.

The album features 15 tracks, including socially and politically charged songs such as “Apolityczność” (Apoliticality), “Wegetariański Świat” (Vegetarian World), “Narkotyki = Apatia” (Drugs = Apathy), “Tworząc Rzeczywistość” (Creating Reality), and “Macho.” True to punk tradition, the record also includes a cover song: “Gest Idoli,” originally by the band Karcer. 28-page booklet with photos, graphics, and texts in several languages.
