RATOS DE PORAO “Anarkophobia” LP

Ratos de Porão, often abbreviated as RDP, is one of the most important and influential bands in the Brazilian hardcore punk and extreme metal scene. Formed in São Paulo in 1981, the band has remained a symbol of the uncompromising Brazilian underground for over four decades. Their music has evolved from raw hardcore punk to crossover thrash to extreme metal, always retaining its punk energy and sociopolitical character.

Anarkophobia is one of Ratos de Porão’s most acclaimed albums, originally released in 1991. The album is a prime example of crossover thrash – combining the speed and aggression of hardcore punk with the heaviness of thrash metal and metal riffs.

The album features both original RDP compositions and two distinctive covers: “Commando” by the Ramones and “Jardim Eléctrico” by Brazilian psychedelic pioneers Os Mutantes.
