UR “Black Vortex” CD

Black Vortex. What first caught my ears was a great balance between the uncompromising nature of black and the epic nature of heavy metal! Neither genre dominates, everything simply presents itself as a damn well thought-out concept. Growl breaks through with great vocals, which at times remind me of Henrik Palma or Fernando Ribeiro, which is of course a plus. Musically, however, it is the way I like it, I would even say very much. UR does not bore, does not drag on, does not find fault with everything. The entire material, from beginning to end, allows the listener to immerse themselves in the prepared story with concentration. At times it sounds like Samael during his famous “ceremony”, sometimes like the previously mentioned In Solitude, other times it simply pounds with power comparable to Bathory and the ferocity known from Bölzer, for example. It’s enough for me, I loop the record once again on my headphones and try to control my headbanging to the melodies that flow from the “black vortex”.

Black Vortex can certainly be placed next to other and equally successful items by Arachnophobia. If you’re tired of atmospheric and overcomplicated playing, then the UR full-length is the perfect solution. The uncompromising nature, honesty and nod to the classics emanating from each of the nine tracks can be best summed up with a quote from a certain song: “evil has never been easier!” (KVLT Magazine)
